The design of the sneaker is inspired by Moscow’s rich history and modern architecture, with a “Smoke Gray” colorway chosen as a nod to buildings across the city and the fall sky. Elsewhere, “Infrared” and “Lazer Blue” details pay tribute to Moscow’s night lights, while reflective touches bring to mind the skyscrapers across the skyline.
Other features of the sneaker include the words “Speed” and “City” written in Cyrillic to recall the dynamism of the city. The sneaker itself is crafted from leather and suede, while the silhouette has been adapted for 2020 with a lower toe and a pattern split of the original Swoosh shape.
Nike’s Air Max 90 “Moscow” is due to release on November 14, and will be available from select retailers in Moscow as well as through SNKRS.
For more Air Max 90 news, Nike has also added a ripstop shroud to the iconic silhouette.
