Brendon Babenzien‘s NOAH is continuing its partnership with the SoCal-based skateboarding stalwart Vans with the release of two new collaborative sneakers, this time around taking on the Authentic and OG Era LX.

Previous collaborations have shown that NOAH is not afraid of delivering something daring. Its Sk8-Hi Decon was covered in lush “Petrol Blue” suede, while others such as the collaborative Chukkas sported all-over check patterns. For the new Authentic and OG Era LX, NOAH goes full-blown with its use of color.

However, while the Authentic has been given bright makeovers in suede, it has also been stripped back. All the seams from the front toe cap have been removed, which give the shoe a seamless one-piece upper made from suede in baby pink, brown, and navy blue. Each is contrasted by a black vulcanized sole unit, black laces, a red license plate on the heel, and a small Vans-branded tab on the lateral-side collar.

In contrast, NOAH and Vans also present their OG Era LX — an exercise in color, patterns and prints. Suede, canvas, and corduroy panels combine on these two colorways, with both looking to the mid-’80s when surf and skate cultures merged as one. The result is nothing short of brave — one pair features a pink suede lateral, a camouflage print medial, a lime green corduroy toe, checkered flag heels, white stitching, and a black sole unit.

The other OG Era LX from Noah x Vans is slightly subtler, adopting the same combination of suede, canvas, and corduroy but coloring them in shades of brown, navy blue, red, and white.

Noah Clubhouse Tokyo and Noah Noodle Shop Osaka, as well as Noah NY and the brand’s website will drop all five pairs on October 22. Take a closer look at what’s releasing above.
