Hublot Honors Southeast Asia With Special Edition Watches
Five new iterations of signature timepiece models.
Hublot is releasing five Southeast Asia-inspired watches in celebration of the passionate watch collecting scene within the region. The collection builds upon Hublot’s renowned capabilities to apply bold elements and material innovation to eye-catching offerings. Encompassing men’s and women’s timepieces, these special edition watches are notable for their ingenious use of diamonds and intricate creative details.
For the women’s collection, two signature watches — the 38 mm Big Bang Steel Diamonds and 41 mm Big Bang Chronograph — have been reimagined with a single role of larger diamonds on the bezel, serving as an evolution from previous iterations featuring double rows of smaller diamonds. Both watches share polished and satin finishes, stainless steel cases, black satin-finished sunray dials, polished rhodium-plated hands with white luminescent and matching black alligator straps with rubber underlays. They also tout water resistance up to 100 meters and have a power-reserve of 42 hours. The models differ, however, in their complications. The Big Bang Steel Diamonds features a date window at the 3 o’clock position on the minimalist dial. As its name suggests, the Big Bang Chronograph boasts the addition of a chronograph movement for accuracy.
The Southeast Asia-inspired 44 mm Big Bang Chronograph, Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph and the Spirit of Big Bang each now come decked out in black and gold. The men’s designs hone in on the warm tones of the Southeast Asian landscape while also maintaining the design language of the original Hublot watches from the ’80s with their gold cases on rubber straps. The Big Bang “Chronograph” immediately stands out with its frosted carbon fiber case and bezel, tri-compax dial arrangement and black-lined rubber strap. The watch houses the self-winding Hublot HUB4104 calibre, an impressive 252-part movement with 27 jewels. The Classic Fusion Aerofusion Chronograph has a satin-finished and polished black ceramic case and 18K King Gold rectangular chronograph pushers and crown — a first for Hublot. Finally, the Spirit of Big Bang is a tonneau-shaped watch with a micro-blasted ceramic case and bezel lug, black PVD titanium with black rubber insert crown and a black micro-blasted ceramic case back. The highlight of the pieces is a self-winding skeleton chronograph movement with 42 hours of power reserve and water-resistance of 50 meters.
