SANKUANZ Explores the Internet in Retro-Futuristic "Drown 52" FW19 Campaign
Delivering a number of slick leather pieces.
Chinese label SANKUANZ has presented “Drown 52,” its retro-futuristic collection for Fall/Winter 2019. In a lookbook shot by French photographer Hugo Comte — who has worked with the likes of 032c, Prada and Vogue — SANKUANZ designer Shangguan Zhe presents pieces which explore the future of the Internet and how it has an impact on society presently.
As a result, garments are slick, well-tailored and contemporary, while maintaining a retro flair through design details such as trouser zippers and poppers, as well as oversized bootleg finishes. “Drown 52” presents a “mysterious and assertive” type within its womenswear — which is comprised of all-new tailoring — while menswear is sharp and androgynous.
Key pieces from the FW19 collection include a shiny black leather blazer and the biker-tinged, zipper-equipped crocodile-debossed leather two-piece. More casual pieces such as the collaborative Herschel backpack — which is made from durable waterproof and air resistant welded tarpaulin — as well as the blue spandex high-neck long-sleeve top, which was seen on its Paris Fashion Week Men’s FW19 runway, round out SANKUANZ’s seasonal offering.
