A little over a month before he embarks on an expansive North American tour with Young Thug and Machine Gun Kelly, Chicago star-in-the-making Polo G is revisiting his acclaimed debut studio album, Die a Legend, for his latest music video. Specifically, the fast-rising young artist is reconnecting with Laka Films for a visual in support of the Sonic-produced Die a Legend highlight “Effortless.”

“My life a movie, ever since birth, it’s been lights, camera, action / I did a lot of shit in these streets but only got booked for trappin’ / I’m from Chicago, where it’s normal to hear .40’s clappin’ / All you hear is them shots let off, that door slam, and them tires scratchin,” Polo G raps during the beginning of his first “Effortless” verse, outlining the record’s narrative and sharing some insight into his rough upbringing.

“Rollie on my wrist, gotta get more rich, I want that brand new Patek / I ball like AI, this shit effortless, don’t give a f*ck ’bout practice,” Polo G continues, moving beyond the past trials and tribulations that comprised his previous struggles to his present-day triumphs and the successes that lay ahead of him. However, even though his future is bright, Polo G still manages to find time to reflect. “Where I’m from we all on that car / If he drive too fast, we gon’ let him have it / Opposition wanna kill me, and I’ll be damned if I let it happen / And the day I leave this earth, I’ma die with legend status.”
