Shortly after dropping its six-minute-long trailer for the video game title DOOM Eternal, the franchise has unveiled a teaser for its forthcoming sci-fi thriller DOOM: Annihilation.

Produced by Universal, the upcoming film follows a group of scientists who’ve found an ancient portal on Mars which allows teleportation throughout the universe. At first, the portal is thought to be the greatest discovery in human history, but things quickly take a turn after finding out that they’ve opened the gates to hell. Lieutenant Joan Dark and her crew of elite Marines have to fight an army of bloodthirsty demons in order to stop them from overtaking Earth. Though the trailer only slightly goes past the 30-second mark, we still get a good feel for the intense action that we can expect to see in the new thriller.

DOOM: Annihilation is slated to hit the big screens on October 1.

Elsewhere, Ewan McGregor might be returning as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Disney’s Star Wars series.
