‘The Death of Dick Long’ Is A24's Latest Sundance Hit
Giving off a Coen Brothers vibe.
After sharing the trailer for The Kill Team earlier this week, indie studio A24 now turns its attention to Sundance hit The Death of Dick Long.
The film made its premiere earlier in January at Sundance’s NEXT section, where even audiences who were expecting something off-kilter didn’t quite know what they were in for. Coming in at two-and-a-half-minutes, the trailer gives those who haven’t seen the film yet a chance to pick up on its Coen-esque vibes and wacky storyline. The Death of Dick Long will center around two friends Zeke and Earl (portrayed by Michael Abbott, Jr. & Andre Hyland) who are trying to cover up the death of their buddy Dick Long in a small Alabama town.
Directed by Daniel Scheinert, who also co-directed A24’s other hit Swiss Army Man, the film also stars Virginia Newcomb, Sarah Baker, Jess Weixler, Sunita Mani, Roy Wood Jr., Poppi Cunningham, and Janelle Cochrane.
The Death of Dick Long hits theaters September 27.
