Bode's Eclectic Corduroy Jackets Offer Rich Outerwear for FW19
Crafted in 100% cotton.

Bode released a round of handmade, one-off outerwear to kick off the new year, and now, as Fall/Winter 2019 looms near, the New York-based label has crafted a set of cotton-corduroy jackets in time for the seasonal switch-up. The brand continues to reference retro themes and pull from vintage fabrics, resulting in two unique and colorful choices.
For the “Senior Cord” edition, Bode was inspired by the typical collegiate look of the 1970’s, and has reimagined a varsity jacket with an eclectic touch. The 100% cotton jacket is offered in a golden “Corn” colorway and printed with various hand-drawn graphics, including illustrations of a bird, a vase and a ship, alongside phrases like “Feed the Cat” and a nod to the rock band “The Replacements.” It’s finished with slanted pockets and a front-button closure.
Meanwhile, the patchwork version is mixed with vintage and household materials that showcase bright swatches in red, green, blue and gold. It features a crosshatch design to differentiate from the usual patched aesthetic, while a buttoned half-placket completes the look.
Bode’s “Senior Cord” jacket is priced at $1,380 USD, while the patchwork jacket retails for $580 USD. Both styles are available now at Moda Operandi’s webstore.
HYPEBEAST recently caught up with the brand’s namesake founder, Emily Bode, for our Streetsnaps series, where the designer talked sustainability and craftsmanship.
