Tudor Builds a Ceramic Black Bay One for the 2019 Only Watch Auction
Takes place November 9 in Geneva.
Only Watch is a biennial charity auction that takes place in Geneva to raise money for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a condition affecting 250,000 Americans and almost 1 in every 3,500 live male births across the globe. Every two years, the organization will collaborate with some of the watch world’s finest brands for special one-off editions to be auctioned off, 99 percent of the proceeds of which will then go towards funding research projects in the area. This year, Only Watch has collaborated with Tudor for a one-off ceramic Black Bay One.
This special timepiece comes as a blacked-out version of Tudor’s Black Bay series, but unlike its usual stainless steel make, the case has been constructed with ceramic, paired with a matching black ceramic bezel insert. The unidirectional bezel ring itself is made from titanium, while the caseback and crown come in PVD-treated stainless steel. The watch utilizes an in-house MT5602 movement, with the black color scheme extending to the PVD-treated rotor as well. Of course, the watch comes with a matching black hybrid alligator leather and rubber strap with a black PVD-treated clasp.
The Tudor Black Bay Ceramic One will be open for auction at this year’s Only Watch event in Geneva, taking place on November 9, with the auction house estimating a price of $4,500-5,500 USD. Head over to the official event site to learn more.
