Illustrator Eri Wakiyama is gearing up to present a new solo show at Procell that is set to debut this week. Known for her depictions of various unnamed girls taking part in different life (and fantasy) scenarios, Wakiyama will present a selection of colorful watercolor and acrylic works.

Wakiyama often plays with abstraction in her imagery, creating illustrations that toy the line between anime and sketches. Some of her past pieces highlight the mystery girls doing everyday things like drawing and eating, while others extend more into the make-believe world.

The artist is also known for her many collaborations with storied fashion brands; she’s worked on prints and campaign imagery for the likes of Supreme, 1017 ALYX 9SM and Calvin Klein, among others.

Wakiyama’s exhibition will begin on Thursday, August 1 at the Procell store in New York and is slated to run for three weeks long.
