Superhero Turns Full Villain in Final 'Brightburn' Trailer
Arriving this Memorial Day weekend.
The final trailer for Sony Pictures‘ upcoming horror film Brightburn was released earlier today.
Acting as an alternate version of The Man of Steel, the film will showcase a similar story where a midwestern couple, played by Elizabeth Banks and David Denman, adopt a boy who falls to Earth. However unlike the Superman, where the boy becomes a hero, the child starts using his powers for evil.
While the first trailer played up the film’s connection to the Superman mythos, the final trailer gives viewers a closer look at the horrors to come by offering up new nightmarish visuals. In the short clip, Brightburn can be seen wreaking havoc on his small town and adopted parents.
Pegged by the studio itself “the first horror film of the summer,” catch Brightburn when it lands in theaters May 23, 2019. The film was produced by Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
In more entertainment news, James McAvoy stars in mystical His Dark Materials trailer.
