New Fan-Made Clip Reimagines ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ for 2019
Taking a darker approach to the series.
With The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air poised to celebrate its 30th anniversary next year, and no official remake on the horizon, fans of the Will Smith series have created their own version of the show for 2019. For the updated version from Sun Squared Media — titled just Bel-Air — the show is now longer a comedy, instead featuring a much darker show.
The clip opens with Will being addressed by his mother, before cutting to the basketball-fight scene from the original series’ opening credits. From this point, the trailer goes on to show Will being sent to live with Uncle Phil in Bel-Air before going on to meet Jazz and begin to fit in in his new surroundings. Will even addresses the new make-up of the show, explaining that his “life ain’t a sitcom.” Check out the clip above.
