Tierra Whack Drops "Gloria," Makes Late-Night Debut
She performed “Only Child” and “Hungry Hippo” on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live.’

Tierra Whack’s drops her third new song of the year. “Gloria” follows up her previous records, “Only Child” and “CLONES,” which dropped last month within consecutive weeks. The record comes on the heels of her insane performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night (March 4).
In an interview on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show on Apple Music, Tierra Whack explains how the record was made. “Gloria is a song I made a while ago,” she said. “Nick Varudo produced the beat. I just remember hearing this certain sound that he was playing. I’m like, ‘Yo, you just got to keep that going, keep that going.’ We added the base, and it’s kind of like more trap, but fun free. Sometimes I hear beats and I’m like, ‘It’s too mainstream. It’s too, I can’t connect.’ This beat, it felt so good. It was there, but it was also still here. It felt real.”
She goes on to add:
Yeah, it spoke to me straight away. I’m basically just talking about how no matter where I go, I’ll always come back home. I’ll never forget where I came from. It’s just like me going to Hollywood. I’m in LA right now, but I’m going home tomorrow. I still see my family, and I talk to my friends, and I visit everybody. That really keeps me grounded, and just showing no matter where you go, you can always come back home. You give back and yeah.
