Jordan Peele’s Us film snapped up a whopping $70.25 million USD in ticket sales after launching this weekend. This means that the hit movie tripled its $20 million USD budget in just three days since it premiered in theaters. Moreover, according to Forbes, it’s the third biggest debut for any R-rated horror film — following Halloween ($76 million USD in 2018) and It ($123 million USD in 2017).
The movie stars Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke from Black Panther and Elizabeth Moss from The Handmaid’s Tale. The premise of the film focuses on a family and their sinister doppelgängers.
