Gearbox Announces Long-Awaited 'Borderlands 3' With Reveal Trailer
It’s got over one billion guns.
A new instalment of the Borderlands franchise has been hinted at and rumored for a while now, and finally Gearbox Software has officially announced at PAX East that Borderlands 3 will be hitting stores soon. The gaming company debuted its new trailer for the game during the panel at PAX as well, which you can check out above. There’s no current news on which platforms will support the game or when it will be released — or even a retail price for that matter — but the game’s publisher 2K Games did say that it’ll be out within this coming fiscal year. Gearbox also said that more announcements about Borderlands 3 will come on April 3, so fans of the franchise should definitely mark that day on their calendars.
The game itself appears to be larger than ever before, with the trailer claiming that there are more than one billion guns, and suggesting that there will be plenty of worlds and locations for players to explore. The trailer introduces an array of new characters and new classes that players will be able to control, giving a taste of what the new storyline may entail.
