Tourne de Transmission Pays Homage to the '80s Cassette in "Blank Tapes" Vol. 2
Winter-ready staples reminisce a pre-digital era.

Graeme Gaughan‘s digitally-inspired label Tourne de Transmission has unveiled its Fall/Winter 2019 collection called “Blank Tapes” Vol. 2.
TDT once again looks to the digitalization of modern society and “humanity’s circular obsession with writing over historic data without learning or taking lessons from it.” As a result, TDT presents “Blank Tapes,” a play on the idea that the modern world is wiping out the likes of ’80s cassettes — with this being a core focus for the collection itself.
Throughout the collection, there are references to ’80s audio cassettes with reworked graphics appearing on the padded, winter-ready “Frequency Gilet,” as well as the “Super ef” T-shirt and the “Frequency Tape” hoodie which incorporates a detachable chest pocket that can store and exhibit a cassette.
Elsewhere TDT presents its “Burn Out” denim pieces that reference the effect recording on tape over and over again has on the device. Rounding out the collection is the mohair “MAXIM” leopard print zip-up cardigan, a scarf and a selection of outerwear pieces.
