First Subtitled Trailer for Makoto Shinkai's 'Weathering with You' Has Surfaced
The top-grossing film in Japan is makings its way to the United States.
Your Name creator Makoto Shinkai and producer Genki Kawamura’s follow-up film Weathering with You is finally headed to the United States and a new English sub trailer from Toho and GKIDS has surfaced. Weathering with You has gone on to become the top-grossing film in Japan this year, and in the footage above, we see the love story of a village boy meeting a girl in Tokyo with the ability to control rainstorms.
We also get a look at the stunning animation that accurately captures Tokyo landmarks, such as the Roppongi Hills’ Mori Tower and the Rainbow Bridge that connects Tokyo to Odaiba. Weathering with You already has an official entry for the 2020 Oscars as Best International Feature Film, and recently it screened during TIFF.
