Beyoncé & JAY-Z Want Their Fans to Try Veganism
“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else.”
Beyoncé and JAY-Z opened up about veganism and their hopes for a wider-spread adoption of the dietary system’s practices for the introduction they wrote for exercise physiologist and author — as well as Beyoncé’s trainer — Marco Borges‘ new book, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World.
“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else,” they wrote. “We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible … We all have a responsibility to stand up for our health and the health of the planet. Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become ‘the Greenprint.’”
Outside of the star-powered introductory piece, The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World is said to serve as a “book of recipes and lifestyle guidelines.” Greenprint author Marco Borges has worked with Beyoncé and Jay-Z for several years now, and the trio even came together to create the 22 Days Nutrition vegan diet challenge, which Beyoncé turned to in order to prepare herself for her Coachella 2018 performance. JAY-Z and Beyoncé first experiences with veganism occurred in 2013, having engaged in a brief plant-based dietary run that Borges says helped give them a “greater understanding of the powerful benefits of plant-based nutrition.”
Marco Borges’ The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World first hit shelves on December 31, 2018, and is currently available for online purchase through
Amazon.
A few weeks ago, JAY-Z took to Tidal to share a playlist of his favorite 2018 tracks.
