Skylar Spence - I Can't Be Your Superman

Following the previous release of singles “Can’t You See” and “Affairs,” Ryan DeRobertis aka Skylar Spence shares his new track “I Can’t Be Your Superman.” Continuing to display his knack for disco doused tunes, “I Can’t Be Your Superman” is a signature whip of summer-dance tones contrasting to the lyrics that take a more serious note. Talking to Billboard, the New York producer shared:

“Superman is a song about a friend who was living very dangerously for a while. Around the time I wrote the song, I realized I was kind of an enabler of this behavior by not acknowledging the problem, but things soured as soon as I opened my mouth about it. It’s not easy to help anyone who doesn’t see the problem themselves, and that’s where the song stems from.”

“I Can’t Be Your Superman” will feature on his forthcoming debut LP Prom King which will hit shelves September 18 on Carpark Records.
