SAFE Wanders NYC at Night for New "No Diamonds" Video
The Drake-cosigned artist is ready for stardom.
Multi-talented, Drake-cosigned artist SAFE is back with a new video for a single known as “No Diamonds.” The track itself was brought to life during a recording session in Jamaica and boasts production by T-Minus and ADP. Speaking to Noisey, SAFE says the track centers around “flexing without flashy things like diamonds;” he wants his young fans to understand that you don’t need the usual rap-life luxuries to live a high-quality life.
Notably, this new video for “No Diamonds” was shot at night in New York City and allows Fred Focus to take over directorial duties. “I wanted to capture the grittiness of New York and though I’m not from here, I still feel it’s similar to Toronto,” SAFE explains to Noisey. “I just felt like I needed a scene in front of a corner store at night. I needed the project buildings and I needed nighttime action.”
