Ricoh Unveils the Lightweight Gr III Compact Camera
Complete with an upgraded lens, image sensor and imaging engine.

Ricoh has revealed the latest addition to the GR series, the GR III. The series has always been known for combining a small frame with a large APS-C sensor. The last update was back in 2015, which added Wi-FI and NFC capabilities to the camera.
Speaking to Engadget, Ricoh revealed that the new camera has a “newly designed lens, image sensor and imaging engine” while still keeping the camera at a competitive price. The sensor is the biggest upgrade, going from 16 MP to 24.2 MP, while the other additions are a USB-C connection and a brand new software interface. The camera will be released in early 2019, with no official word on the pricing as of yet.
