Is Daft Punk Heading out on Tour in 2017?
1997, 2007 and now 2017?
Will Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter continue their trend of heading out on tour once every decade? After putting together world tours in 1997 and 2007, it looks as if Daft Punk will be hitting the road next year — at least if a leak of sorts on the Lollapalooza website is to be believed.
Over the weekend, an enterprising Reddit user pointed out that there is currently a Daft Punk tag on the web page for next year’s edition of the storied festival, which is set to take place from August 3 through August 6 in Chicago’s Grant Park. The news follows persistent rumors that the iconic French duo will return to Glastonbury for the first time in 20 years next summer, which would be de Homem-Christo and Bangalter’s first appearance on stage since a one-off at the Grammys back in 2014 alongside Pharrell, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Wonder.
Naturally, Daft Punk’s reps declined to comment when NME reached out regarding the potential tour.
