Apple Are Not Planning to Buy TIDAL

Earlier in the summer, reports circulated regarding a potential acquisition of TIDAL by Apple. Now, the head of Apple Music Jimmy Iovine has addressed the rumors head-on. In a newly-released feature from Buzzfeed, Jimmy Iovine responds to a question about the aforementioned reports with, “We’re really running our own race. We’re not looking to acquire any streaming services.” This is the first public statement from an Apple official regarding the buyout rumors since they initially broke.
