Following the first looks at the collaborative Kamanda, Stan Smith and I-5923 sneakers, adidas Originals and NEIGHBORHOOD have tapped Los Angeles’s own Cali Thornhill DeWitt for the collaborative Fall/Winter 2018 lookbook. Dubbed “A Terrace Survival Guide,” the imagery sees DeWitt styling the collaborative clothing and sneakers in and around Los Angeles.
NEIGHBORHOOD’s militaria influence informs the dusty earth tones that appear throughout the collection, with adidas’s sporty inclinations yielding elevated tracksuits and versatile athleisure basics like hoodies and ringer tees. To deliver the bespoke imagery, DeWitt tapped his preferred Old English font, which is emblazoned on the front and rear of hoodies, tees, jackets and sneakers. Target designs also appear throughout, evoking the mod influence at the heart of terrace culture, which is itself a subset of soccer fandom; these disparate influences of militaria and niche sportswear are simultaneous influences for NEIGHBORHOOD designer Shinsuke Takizawa. Tying in with the collaborative clothing are the Stan Smith BOOST, I-5923 and side-laced Kamanda sneakers, all executed in earth tones save for a pair of the Kamanda, which offer a tonal black makeup to tie in with the track gear.
