Slam Jam & Mackintosh Tap Technical Expertise for Fall/Winter 2018
Bringing outerwear knowledge to coats, knitwear and trousers.
Scottish outerwear specialist Mackintosh has teamed up with Italian label and store Slam Jam for a wide-ranging new capsule. The collection builds on Mackintosh’s expertise, with the label’s outerwear archive used as the starting point for the collaborative capsule. This Fall/Winter 2018 release includes a military-style trench coat, a single-breasted railway coat and a quilted liner.
The capsule also sees Mackintosh’s classic touches transplanted onto other pieces. This includes artisanal taping — normally used on waterproof coats — featuring on knitwear and sweatshirts while compact, elastic cotton is used in cargo trousers. Lastly, this capsule features Mackintosh’s first use of a pinstripe wool fabric. This material has a reflective quality and appears on raincoats in the collection. To launch the collection, Slam Jam has released a video lookbook ahead of the capsule’s official reveal. The full collection will release in September.
