A part of the thrill in watching films or shows of the horror genre is listening to their ominous minor-key soundtracks or theme music. A YouTube user going by Muted Vocals has reworked a few iconic theme songs from popular horror films and shows Halloween, The Exorcist, The X-Files, Saw and A Nightmare on Elm Street in major keys (raising the third and sixth notes of the minor scale by one semitone). The result is unexpectedly jubilant; the themes sound like they belong in an infomercial, family sitcom or cartoon. Listen to them above.
