Lauryn Hill Clears Up Robert Glasper’s Accusations
“I’m confused as to why such a principled musician would show up to work for me anyway.”
Lauryn Hill has shared a new essay on Medium.com responding to the accusations of Robert Glasper. In a recent interview, Glasper called Hill out for allegedly stealing music, cutting her band’s pay, firing her tour band members before her shows and more. “I chose to wait until after the anniversary to post this,” Lauryn tweeted. “Thank you everyone for the Love! I’d like to clear a few things up.”

“I’m confused as to why such a principled musician, who thought I ‘stole’ from his friends, would show up to work for me anyway. If that was hypocrisy or opportunism instead of genuine interest, it would further explain why an artist would feel the need to put his or her guard up.”
In addition to the response, Hill also revealed her personal struggles the time of her MTV Unplugged No. 2.0 album, her stance on racial injustice and her live performances. The 20th anniversary tour for her album Miseducation will resume next month after she had cancelled and pushed back some dates.
