Kesha Has Dropped Her Sexual Assault Case Against Dr. Luke
“Kesha is focused on getting back to work.”
After a two-year court battle, Kesha has decided to drop her Californian lawsuit against Dr. Luke. Last year, the pop star accused Dr. Luke of sexual assault and emotional abuse and attempted to exit her contract with Sony and cut all ties with the producer. Dr. Luke has gone on record and denied all of Kesha’s allegations, labelling her actions as an attempt to get out of her deal and sign with another label. It seems that dropping the case may be a step towards putting the past behind her; Kesha’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, released a statement to Rolling Stone that confirms she has already submitted 28 new songs to meet the requirements of her contract:
Kesha has dismissed her California action without prejudice while she pursues her appeal and other legal claims in the New York courts. Kesha is focused on getting back to work and has delivered 28 new songs to the record label. We have conveyed to Sony and the label Kesha’s strong desire to release her next album and single as soon as possible.
