Kapsimalis Architects Carves Summer Retreat Into Santorini Mountainside
With views across the Aegean Sea.

Carved into the Santorini mountainside, this holiday house from Greek architecture studio Kapsimalis Architects is the perfect summer retreat. From its raised location on Prophet Ilias mountain, the house offers views across the Aegean Sea and the volcanic islands around Santorini.
The main section of the house is buried in the slope, with a living room, a dining area, a kitchen, a main bedroom and two bathrooms situated in this area. This space has a long sliding glass door which opens out to swimming a pool, meaning that most of the house can feel like an outdoor area during the day. Take a look around the house in the gallery above.
