adidas Spezial Teases FW18 Collection With Punstock SPZL Silhouette
Inspired by a lesser-known archival silhouette.
Following its Second Summer of Love-inspired Spring/Summer 2018 drop, adidas Spezial is back with a new release for the Fall/Winter 2018 season. The next collection is believed to follow a similar theme and is rumored to be titled “Acid Winter.” Although the full capsule is yet to be unveiled, one of the silhouettes that will be included in the collection’s footwear component has emerged.
The Punstock SPZL is the first sneaker to be revealed from the collection. Similarly to previous releases, the Punstock is based on a little-known piece of the adidas archive, with inspiration coming from the 1984 Long Beach silhouette from adidas’ Freizeit division. Key touches include subtle Three-Stripe branding, a small metal Trefoil logo and Hawaii sole tooling. The Punstock SPZL — and the full Fall/Winter 2018 collection — is set to drop on September 7.
