Following the Bristol Studio x adidas Crazy BYW teaser, we have a look at some even more progressive remakes of adidas‘s BOOST-heavy silhouette. Teaming up with The Shoe Surgeon, Bristol Studio serves up several significantly more conceptual iterations of the collaborative shoe.

As a result of Bristol Studio founder Luke Tadashi pondering, “can [sneakers] be considered a form of art in and of themselves?” the beefy Crazy BYW silhouette is accented with aluminum, PVC, cardboard, paper and other unorthodox textiles, resulting in a bold fusion of DIY-inspired ideals with conventional sneaker design. The concept of a sneaker as a 3D object — as opposed to clothing, which is only three-dimensional when worn — informed the redesigns, which blend the industrial design materials with more recognizable detailing, like a chunky BOOST midsole along with premium leather, suede and mesh paneling.

Check out the three dynamic revisions above and stay tuned for their debut during Bristol Studio’s upcoming New York Fashion Week: Men presentation.

Elsewhere, Pharrell revised the adidas Crazy BYW as the pink-hued “Ambition.”
