Nike‘s Air Zoom Pegasus 35 is the latest iteration of the Air Zoom Pegasus model, a flagship Swoosh runner that has sustained 35 years of evolution and popularity. The newest offshoot looks back at the silhouette’s history, maintaining the shoe’s best design and performance elements while making small upgrades based on feedback from elite athletes.

The new model maintains the Air Zoom Pegasus’ familiar mesh cut and sew upper, as well as its Zoom Air and Cushlon foam midsole. What’s new, however, is a beveled heel that assists with touchdown, a collar that is directed away from the Achilles for added comfort (a suggestion made by Mo Farah), a shifted bottom eyelet that opens up and provides flex in the foot, a notched tongue for easier slip-on and -off wear, and a full-length articulated Zoom airbag inspired by the Zoom Vaporfly 4% for responsive cushion. Finally, the women’s version features a slightly softer Cushlon foam specifically adapted for the female foot.

The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 35 will be releasing in the above “Elemental Rose” colorway for $120 USD on May 15 at Nike’s web store and select retailers worldwide. For more updated silhouettes, check out Nike’s stripped-back Air Max Plus Tn model in black and orange.
