Set to make its debut later this summer is science fiction/action film The Meg, based on the 1997 book, Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror. As a disabled deep-sea submersible sits at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean, the crew trapped inside the underwater craft encounter a 75-foot-long behemoth of a shark known as Megalodon, previously thought to be extinct for over 2 million years.

Rescue diver Jonas Taylor, played by Jason Statham, now must risk his life to help free himself and the remaining captives from the jaws of the monstrous sea creature. The film also stars Rainn Wilson and Ruby Rose, and is set to hit theaters this August. Check out the official trailer above for a closer look.
