‘GRIND’ Celebrates the Legacy of New Balance’s 990 Model in New Editorial

Just yesterday, New Balance announced that it will honor the 990s historic legacy by offering the shoe for $100 USD, much like it did back in 1982 when the groundbreaking model first debuted. Japanese lifestyle publication GRIND thought to commemorate the throwback runner in its own special way, by featuring the iconic model in a new editorial.
Spotted above in four different colorway options, each of the featured scenes place models in various outfits and scenario settings, doing well to showcase the runner’s versatile nature. From casual sportswear vibes, rugged workwear settings, and even a sophisticated formal ensemble, New Balance’s 990 silhouette is presented in such a way that convincingly covers a broad range of styles.
