Bill Murray Will Release a Classical Music Album This Summer
Is there anything Bill Murray can’t do?
Bill Murray is eyeing a 2017 summer release for his new classical album project, New York Times reports. The Caddyshack actor will be singing and doing a bit of spoken-word for the upcoming title — expect performances of works by George Gershwin and Stephen Foster plus songs from the musical West Side Story. As for the spoken-word part, Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, and Ernest Hemingway’s titles will be included alongside music from Schubert, Bach and Piazzolla. Those songs will also be performed by violinist Mira Wang and pianist Vanessa Perez.
“When they start playing, the demand is so great that if you’re attending to who you are right now, it brings out something that you couldn’t have visualized or planned for,” Murray said. You can look for this “American history and identity” – inspired album to drop this summer, but also keep on your sights on Murray’s other music project – a collaboration with Paul Shaffer called Happy Street coming out on Record Store Day, April 22.
