Katy B Links up With Chris Lorenzo for "I Wanna Be"
Another house-leaning record.
As The FADER reports, Katy B has delivered another house-indebted single entitled “I Wanna Be.” Created in conjunction with Birmingham beatsmith Chris Lorenzo, “I Wanna Be” serves as Katy B’s third major release of 2016. Thus far, Katy B has already made quite the impact with the Kaytranada-assisted “Honey” and a collaboration with Craig David and Major Lazer, “Who Am I.” Elaborating on the backstory behind today’s drop to The FADER, Katy B explains:
“I’m up in Birmingham all the time these days…Clubs are opening up left, right and center there—I was discovering stuff, I felt like I was 16 again. It’s really healthy compared to London, where everywhere’s closing down. When I heard Chris [Lorenz's] beat, I felt quite euphoric…like it’d be in that moment when you’re with someone you like and end up kissing them. When you decide not to play it cool but just go for it.”
