Allan Rayman Channels MJ's "Thriller" & 'Evil Dead' in “Verona’s Obsession Vol. 1”

Last week, Allan Rayman dropped a video and song, “Verona’s Obsession Vol 1.” The visual looks like an ’80s thriller/horror movie, exhibiting vampires, stalkers and various other creatures that roam the night. The Gabriel Adelman-directed visuals pair beautifully with the rising Toronto R&B artists’ in-your-face delivery. Adelman tells The FADER: “In a celebrity-obsessed world, I wanted to show that the fantasy of fandom often has a darker reality. I drew inspiration from my favorite early 80’s music videos and films, such as ‘Thriller’ and Evil Dead. It’s a format I’ve been wanting to work in since obsessively watching Much Music Video Countdown as a kid.” Watch the music video above and stay tuned for its sequel, which will drop sometime in spring.
