Chill-wave meets psych-jazz.
The chill-wave champ, Toro Y Moi has been recently working closely with California-based jazz duo The Mattson 2. They apparently met at a show after one the band’s drummers forgot his drum stool and had to borrow Toro’s and from there a musical relationship was formed. They would eventually work on a collaborative album called Star Stuff, which will see a release on March 31. Today, they share a new single from the project called “JBS” and it’s an intriguing blend of chill-wave and psych-jazz.
