'Street Fighter V' Reveals an Evil Ryu Named Kage as New DLC
“The Embodiment of the Satsui.”
Capcom introduced a new Evil Ryu variant in Street Fighter V named Kage (pronounced car-gay), which translates to Shadow in English. This “Embodiment of the Satsui” is the result of the events following Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, which saw Ryu overcome the Satsui no Hado’s temptation, sealing Evil Ryu away inside forever.
The footage begins with Ryu talking to Dhalsim, receiving a warning not to bottle up his inner rage, lest he faces the consequences. It appears Kage is the direct consequence. “Kage lives to prove Ryu is nothing without him and seeks to challenge Akuma and Sagat, two of Ryu’s most notorious rivals,” according to Capcom.
His playstyle is also slightly different from Evil Ryu’s, he can still axe kick, but his ground Hadouken has changed and he can fire them horizontally in the air. Meanwhile, his hurricane kick only rotates a single, devastating kick. His V-Trigger I: Taigyaku Mudo is a teleport move that can be used as an air dash; while his V-Trigger II: Rikudo Osatsu unlocks a drop down move similar to Akuma’s Misogi, except it can be canceled into other moves.
Kage costs $5.99 USD or 100,000 Fight Money and serves as the beginning of Street Fighter V‘s next season.
In other entertainment news, Pokémon GO is almost worth $4 billion USD.
