Listen to Richmond Skate-Rapper Doof's New Single, "cantswim"
A name you might be hearing more of in 2018.
Get familiar with Doof, otherwise to amongst the Richmond, Virginia rap underground as Shaboi. The young skate-rapper lives a quiet life and is not big on self-promoting but he’s become one of the emcees making some serious noise out of Richmond. Alongside burgeoning rap up-and-comers such as Fly Anakin, Koncept Jackson, and Devonne Harris, the young soft-spoken rapper is beginning to makes his own mark by releasing quality tracks as of late after building a buzz off his recent collaborative EP with New Jersey producer, MellowMarc.
Today, he debuts his newest piece of work, a visual-single which is fully produced, recorded and mixed by the man himself. The backdrop is a world abstracted from form yet the perfect fit for a journalistic venture into low fidelity. The strange marriage of lyricism and experimental drum and loop give the album a certain feeling of looking through the windows of a river home hidden by a swampy overpass.
