Iconic Finnish furniture label Artek recently opened the doors to its new Helsinki headquarters, designed by London-based architecture studio Sevil Peach. As well as serving as the company’s office, the new space was also designed to act as “working showroom” for visiting architects and furniture deals. To showcase the Artek furniture, the space mixes Artek products with pieces from Vitra, the label’s parent company.
The space was designed with an industrial-influenced aesthetic and features an open-plan layout with doors only used for meeting rooms and bathrooms. This plan is designed to create a flexible workplace, with staff encouraged to use the entire environment for work. This is embodied by the office’s central focus, a spacious social hub which is flexibly furnished for different uses. Take a look around the office in the gallery above.
