[gallery columns="3"]Legendary hip-hop duo Eric B and Rakim announced their official comeback over the weekend. This means that they are going to release music for the first time together since 1992’s Don’t Sweat the Technique. Quasimoto, a musical project carried out by Madlib, took to Instagram to announce that he was going to be the third member of the project. The cryptic message reads: “The reformation of Eric B, Rakim and Quas. New album and tour in 2017.” Attached with the announcement is artwork for Eric B and Rakim’s 1988 classic album Follow The Leader that Quasi illustrated himself.

For those who aren’t too familiar with Madlib and his work, the Oxnard-born producer produced Freddie Gibbs’ 2014 album Pinata and contributed to Kanye West on The Life of Pablo. Check out our extensive feature on the veteran beatsmith.

Proud to announce the reformation of Eric B, Rakim, and Quas. New album and tour in 2017.
