Bret Easton Ellis Interviews Kim Kardashian West for 'Richardson Magazine' Issue A9 Cover Story
Celebrating the publication’s 20th anniversary.
To celebrate its 20th anniversary, Richardson has released Issue A9 with a cover appearance from Kim Kardashian West. The cover story — which is shot by Steven Klein — sees Kim Kardashian West interviewed by American author Bret Easton Ellis. The interview covers a number of topics, including Kim’s public and private transformation in recent years, as well as the way she is represented as both a “sex goddess” and a mother.
Announcing the issue, Richardson founder and creative director Andrew Richardson said: “It’s been twenty years since Richardson A1, a lot has changed since Glen Luchford and I sat nervously in the lobby of the Raleigh Hotel in Miami waiting for Jenna Jameson. Thanks to everybody who’s contributed to and supported the magazine since its inception.”
As well as Kim’s cover shoot — which is inspired by Japanese adult animated psychological thriller Perfect Blue — Issue A9 also includes work by Jordan Wolfson, Darja Bajagic, Hajime Sawatari and more.
The new issue launches on October 19 via the Richardson web store, Richardson stores and select retailers. The magazine is priced at $35 USD for the standard issue and $45 USD for the special edition. An accompanying capsule collection will also release on October 26, featuring T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts as well as a reversible MA-1 bomber jacket and accessories. Prices for this capsule range from $15 USD for a mug to $474 USD for the jacket.
