KAPITAL's BORO Transcription Vest Explores Traditional Japanese Weaving
Drawing from Jōmon period craftsmanship.

Adding to its range of uniquely Japanese garments, KAPITAL put together a new vest that ties traditional handcrafting with a contemporary design sensibility.
KAPITAL’s new BORO Transcription Indigo KEEL Weaving Vest utilizes an intricate knitting method from Japan’s prehistoric Jōmon period to create a striking three-dimensional shape. Expressing an array of indigo tones, the outerwear piece is constructed of nylon panels informed by pottery and textiles from the period known for its handcrafted items. The liner of the vest is made of 100 percent cotton and is decorated with an intricate depiction of Japanese Ainu aboriginals, spotlighting an array of crafting methods distinctive of the period.
Priced at ¥203,040 JPY (approximately $1,806 USD), KAPITAL’s BORO Transcription Indigo Weaving Vest is available now online and at select KAPITAL retailers.
For more contemporary fashion, Band of Outsiders teamed up The Woolmark Company for an outerwear-focused FW18 capsule collection.
