Maison Margiela‘s German army trainer-inspired Replica boasts a new look for Spring/Summer 2018, centering around a series of raw-hemmed cut-outs.
This take on the typically low-key sneaker features its recognizable white and grey-hued upper, complete with tan laces, executed in plush leather and suede and finished with the usual gum sole. However, this model differs from its predecessors by embodying Maison’s theme of deconstruction, with large panels sliced out of the upper. The toe and sides feature large chunks removed, almost haphazardly, with raw pieces of leather still visible on the edge. Still boasting its heel and tongue branding, this iteration of the Replica shoe is ideal for hot summer weather, though its advanced detailing may make for challenging styling.
