Chris Jericho Shares His Favorite Opponents via 'The Players' Tribune'
Strictly for the “Jerichoholics.”

Living legend Chris Jericho is next in line to share his words through The Players’ Tribune. In the penned piece, Jericho provided a list of his favorite opponents over the span of his highly decorated career. He kicked things off by mentioning Último Dragón and Dean Malenko during the ’90s, crediting Dean as “incredibly smooth and smart in the ring” while also stating “it almost feeling impossible for us to have a bad match,” when talking about Último.
Moving forward “the ayatollah of rock and rolla” shared his respect for the likes of Shawn Michaels, Rey Mysterio and Kevin Owens. For each wrestler, Y2J mentions how they have all helped tell stories that keep the audience invested and helped improve his career year after year, whether it be the sanctity of the luchador mask to making a feud seem as personal as possible. When talking about Owens he referred to him as “one of the most recognizable guys on the independent scene” before hitting the WWE.
As an added bonus, Jericho included Kenny Omega as a +1, discussing him as a figure that “transcends whatever company they work for.” You can take a look at Chris Jericho’s full thoughts on each wrestler via The Players’ Tribune.
