Wekafore Makes a Statement with a New Lookbook of Ultra-Bold Outfits
From Nigeria via Dubai.
With a busy season of releases showing few signs of slowing down, the latest lookbook to catch our eye comes from relatively new label Wekafore — founded by its namesake, Wekafore Maniu Jibril, who was born in Lagos before moving to Dubai after his home was destroyed in a fire in 2007.
The Wekafore label itself was started in May 2013 with a capsule collection and has since grown to cultivate an aesthetic — evidenced by the current Fall/Winter 2017 lookbook — that blends streetwear clothing with a Malick Sidibe-influenced approach to styling and fabrication. Clothes included in the collection range from quarter zip shirts and fringed hem tops to wide leg trousers — all of which you can find more about on the brand’s web site.
