MoMA Marks Upcoming Fashion Exhibition With Rick Owens and Issey Miyake Collabs
Big-name pieces inspired by the “Items: Is Fashion Modern?” exhibition.
To mark the launch of its “Items: Is Fashion Modern?” exhibition, New York’s Museum of Modern Art has announced a string of collaborations with some of fashion’s biggest names. Pieces from the collection include a special edition Champion sweatshirt, a silk scarf made with Rick Owens and a seamless knit shirt in collaboration with Issey Miyake. Other brands taking part in the project include Armor-Lux, Ray-Ban, Marni, Mary Katrantzou, New Era and Swatch.
The series of products will drop in a cycle of launches during the course of the exhibition, which is the museum’s first fashion exhibition since 1944 and runs from October 1 until January 28 next year. The pieces are available from the MoMA web store now, with prices ranging from $48 USD for the New Era collab to $400 USD for the piece designed by Rick Owens.
As well as collaborating with MoMA, Champion has recently teased its first London flagship with a video featuring spoken word artist James Massiah.
