We first got a look at Guillermo del Toro’s The Shape of Water in mid-July. Set against a Cold War era 1962 America, the trailer showed us a lonely mute by the name of Eliza (Sally Hawkins) who stumbles upon a government secret with her co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer). The government experiment is a creature (Doug Jones) and when the two women try to free it, they are chased down and interrogated by a government official played by Michael Shannon.

In the latest red band unfiltered trailer, there is more crude humor and violence as people die and Eliza is seen visibly giving Michael Shannon’s character a big “F U” in sign language. The Shape of Water is slated to release in theaters on December 8. Let us know what you think of the latest trailer and check out the first look at the revamped Hellboy which will also be directed by del Toro.
