As the adidas Originals NMD approaches its second birthday in December, we’ll be expecting to see several special versions of the signature silhouette. This season, the Three Stripes puts the spotlight on the black BOOST unit. Having added the colored sole to well-received olive and “Triple Black” colorways last month, adidas now adds the stealthily-hued cushioning system to a deep blue NMD R1 color scheme. The “Black/Blue” NMD R1 features a tonal cobalt blue upper that makes a subtle but sharp contrast to the all-black full-length BOOST sole unit.

There’s no word yet on the adidas NMD “Black/Blue” release date and retail price, so stay tuned for official details and let us know if you prefer the colored BOOST to the original. And in case you missed it, take a look at the N.E.R.D.-inspired adidas Originals Hu NMD.
